Job Overview

Job Profile

  • Supports the Board of Governors, Board of Directors and Executive Team by preparing correspondence, organizing and setting up for board meetings, preparing executive documents and recording minutes and records of decision of formal meetings;
  • Responsible for maintaining the rolls and schedules for Boards and Executive Team.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the Constitution, Bylaws, Regulations and Policy documents for the BC Corps of Commissionaires are up-to-date and promulgate amendments to Members and the BC Registry when changes are approved;
  • Responsible for organizing the Annual Governors & Guests Dinner;
  • Ensures all societal documentation is completed as required;
  • Responsible for liaising with the Honorary Governors and keeping them informed as appropriate;
  • Responsible for ensuring that the Articles of Incorporation for BCCC Enterprises Inc. are up-to-date in accordance with approved amendments;
  • Liaise with corporate lawyers Bull Housser Tupper and Turlex Office Services Ltd (holders of official records for BCCCENT) as required;
  • Prioritize processes and projects to align with Strategic and Business goals including follow up on Boards and Executive Team action items ensuring key milestones are met;
  • Acts as the Secretary to the Stephen A. Coleopy Commissionaires Benevolent Fund and responsible for liaison with the external accountant and corporate lawyers;
  • Member of the Charlie Brown Memorial Bursary Committee and responsible for liaison with the Vancouver Foundation;
  • Ensures central calendar is up-to-date and everyone is aware of key dates;
  • Ensures timely circulation of information to management/staff;
  • Responsible for the planning and execution of corporate events by arranging venues, menu planning etc., including but not limited to: Annual Awards Dinner, Annual Information Meetings etc.;

Accountabilities

  • Provides Support to Board of Governors, Board of Directors and Executive Team;
  • Accountable for the overall organization and coordination of administration duties for the Vancouver Head Office;
  • Accountable for maintenance of company facility designation of Secret as laid down by the Government of Canada;

Required Education, Qualifications and Experience

Education: High school diploma required along with a post-secondary degree or diploma in business administration preferred.

As the Service & Response Coordinator you will support existing and current work sites with temporary staffing coverage for short term needs such as vacation, sickness and contract escort services. These services are provided to private and government clients at various sites throughout the Lower Mainland. You will also monitor and respond to a web based lone worker program that ensures the safety and welfare of any employee who is working in an isolated location.

Key Accountabilities

  • Respond to and monitor inbound supervisor and client staffing requirements in a timely manner understanding the site and character requirements
  • Select an appropriate staff member to fill the request from a casual bank of commissionaires

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to obtain and RCMP Reliability and Public Works Reliability Clearance (RCMP Clearance can take 4-6 months to obtain)
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak in English or French as appropriate;
  • Bilingual Guards may be required for some communities;
  • Basic level computer skills an asset;
  • Vision: Visual standards are RCMP-V4 (eye glasses permitted);
  • Able to use both hands;
  • Occasionally required to manipulate/lift up to 20 kg;
  • Able to bend at the waist and climb stairs without restrictions or the use of assistive devices; and

• Attend all requests for service dispatched by the Administration Clerk in priority sequence.

Job Profile

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Internal and external patrols including the parkade
  • Access control of VPD staff, including members and civilians, and third party authorized service contractors
  • Act as first responder in building emergencies such as evacuations and medical emergencies
  • Monitoring of CCTV cameras
  • Investigating incidents and completing incident reports clearly and accurately and forward to the client and site supervisor in a timely manner
  • Act as a line of emergency response and provide first aid to all employees in a prompt, easy accessible and appropriate manner. OFA 2 certification is a requirement for this role.
  • Report all incidences to the site supervisor and provide investigation reports.
  • All other duties assigned by the site supervisor and operations management.

Required Education, Qualifications and Experience

At a minimum, applicants must meet the following education, training and qualifications prior to commencement of position duties:

  • Have demonstrated interest and experience in serving the public

Job Profile

• Ensure all Security Staff wear the required standard uniform for their assignment at all times without exception or authorization in writing from the Manager of Client Services.

Required Education, Qualifications and Experience

• All applicants must have clean criminal background and a 5 year living history in Canada to obtain required Government of Canada clearances
• Candidate must have a valid BC Security Licence;
• Candidate must have a valid Driver’s Licence with a clean driver’s abstract;
• Previous experience in security is required;
• Previous supervisory experience is an asset;
• Strong self-management, organization and entrepreneurial skills;
• Physically and mentally fit to perform all duties required;

  • 1 to 2 years experience within Commissionaires BC is considered an asset

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • As these Sites are operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, candidates must be willing and available for nights, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Fit and able to walk on a regular basis in order to conduct 2-hour internal patrols of floors and stairwells and 1-hour external patrols, twice per shift.
  • Ability to negotiate stairs and walk long distances in all types of weather conditions
  • When required – ability to sit for more than 75% of each shift
  • Excellent communications (oral and written) skills
  • Proficient report writing skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multi task and work under pressure in a dynamic work environment

Job Profile

  • Provide superior customer service to clients and general public
  • Conduct security patrols of assigned buildings and provide access control
  • Proactively respond and resolve emergency situations and conflicts
  • Complete  evacuation and emergency response procedures
  • Clearly write daily logs and reports of all incidents.
  • Effectively communication problems or concerns to the Site Supervisor.
  • Possess excellent multi-tasking, problem solving, prioritizing and organizational abilities
  • Maintain ongoing knowledge of and perform all duties with high safety standards.

Required Education, Qualifications and Experience

  • To be successful you must have resided in Canada for the last five years and not been out of the country for more than six months at a time in order to complete required security clearances.

  • Hold a valid BC Security License and Occupational First Aid Level 1 or be willing to complete training and testing.
  • Fluent English written, verbal and reading skills

  • Physically fit and able to stand for long periods and able to work in a range of weather conditions throughout shift including working indoors and outdoors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working with computers plus other office equipment such as fax and photocopiers preferred
  • Valid BC Driver’s license is an asset
  • Minimum 19 years of age, High School diploma, good physical health
  • Fluency  in French (verbal and written)  is an asset
