Job Profile

This position is responsible for access control, pass control, and general site security at some of the highest profile RCMP locations in Canada. The successful candidate will have a strong customer service focus and will work as part of the team to ensure site security for the Olympic period. Flexibility, reliability and a proactive attitude will allow the individual to work closely with the public and the RCMP staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clerical and administrative support for the RCMP site, including access control, emergency procedures, receptionist duties and patrols;
  • Ensures security of RCMP site, its staff and parking lots;
  • Updates visitor logs and issues access passes to individuals coming onto RCMP grounds;
  • Administers access control to the site by checking ID and operating the gate;
  • Reports all incidents, problems and areas of concern to the Site Supervisor;
  • Ensures that all specific shift duties are completed in a timely manner;
  • Monitors cameras and multiple alarm systems;
  • Operates a two-way radio in communication with other team members;
  • Patrols the outside perimeter of the site and secures facilities as necessary;
  • Answers the phone and provides general customer service to the public.

Required Education, Qualifications and Experience

  • Valid BC Security Licence or ability to obtain one;
  • BST Certification or willingness to take course;
  • OFA 1 Certification or willingness to obtain;
  • Clear criminal record;
  • 10 year residency in Canada with no extended travel overseas;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with computers;
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and customer service skills;
  • Ability to handle emergency situations in a calm, professional manner;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • 24/7 availability an asset;
  • Access to a vehicle and willingness to drive to work an asset;
  • Current or previous RCMP Clearance a great asset;
  • Current or previous Military or Federal Clearances an asset;
