Overview

This position is located at a Military base in Kitsilano. B.C (near Jericho beach).   Site Commissionaires are under the direct supervision of site supervisors who is accountable to the GSM.  This is security work, and Guards will perform strict access-control by establishing each person’s authority to access the premise.

Job Profile

In this position, you will be required to:

  • Control access for ALL people entering or exiting DND property;
  • Patrol interior and exterior property;
  • Maintain accurate and detailed logs;
  • Raise and lower flag;
  • Observe for signs of crime, fire or disorder and take action as required.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

In order to qualify for this position, you must have the following:

  • BST with CGSB Standard;
  • Ability  to confidently deal  with military personnel and the public while maintaining strict security at the base;
  • A valid Occupational First Aid level 1 certificate;
  • The ability to prepare routine reports and perform clerical duties;
  • The ability to sit/drive for long periods of time;
  • The ability to walk long distances;
  • The ability to use computers efficiently and effectively.
