Commissionaires B.C. Opens Surrey Office

Commissionaires B.C. has opened its second Lower Mainland office in Surrey, a response to the city's growing immigrant population.
The security organization provides immigrants with digital fingerprinting services.
Canadian law requires immigration applicants, citizenship applicants and permanent residence applicants to submit fingerprints to the RCMP.
The office – located at 12725 80 Ave. – shares space with Progressive Intercultural Community Services, an organization that assists new and recent immigrants with their transition within Canada.
"Surrey has a fast growing population with a strong new immigrant sector that needs this service," said Commissionaires B.C. CEO Allen Batchelar. "And it’s a good central location, allowing us to accommodate customers in the surrounding communities."
The company has clearance from the RCMP to capture fingerprints and submit them directly to the Canadian Criminal Real Time Identification Services (CCRTIS) for processing.
CCRTIS then checks the fingerprint package against the RCMP’s criminal record database.
If no record is present, the RCMP will issue a certificate indicating a clear record.
If the applicant does have a criminal record, this will be indicated in the results.
